March 2019 F2F Meeting Materials

The DataSTAGE Coordinating Center was proud to host the second DataSTAGE Face-to-Face meeting in Chapel Hill, NC on March 19 & 20, 2019. 65 STAGE consortium and NHLBI members participated in-person with an additional 8 virtual attendees.

Both meeting days focused on Working Group and Tiger Team Breakout sessions. These productive meetings enabled consortium attendees to reach a basic level of consensus and deeper understanding. Each day the WG’s/TT reported back to the whole group with a status of the work accomplished that day and a summary of their next steps. A schedule to finalize the DataSTAGE Strategic Plan , Implementation Plan , and Project Management Plan was also discussed on Day 1.

Day 2 was kicked off with an insightful presentation by keynote speaker Professor Reichman , from the Duke University Law School, on Sharing by design: Data and decentralized commons . Jerome’s presentation was followed by a discussion around preparing for the June 4th presentation to NHLBI Council, more WG/TT breakout sessions, and concluded with very helpful thoughts from the DataSTAGE External Experts Panelists: Dr. David Mendelson , Jason Williams , & Dr. Warren Kibbe .

Prior to the 2-day consortium meeting, the Data Harmonization Working Group met for a half-day workshop on Monday, March 18th, also in Chapel Hill, NC.

The Data Harmonization working group gathered for a workshop the prior to the STAGE F2F. The workshop took place on Monday, March 18 from noon - 5pm ET in Chapel Hill, NC with 26 attendees.
