June 2019 F2F Meeting Materials
NHLBI hosted the third DataSTAGE Face-to-Face meeting in Bethesda, MD on June 4 & 5, 2019. Sixty-two STAGE consortium and NHLBI members participated in-person with additional virtual attendees.
Day 1 was highlighted by the morning presentation that our Steering Committee Chair, Ingrid Borecki, gave at the NHLBI Council meeting. After a group-lunch Stan and Becky re-capped the Council presentation feedback, summarized the state of STAGE, and laid out the goals of the face-to-face meeting this quarter. Each team then presented their accomplishments since the last F2F, plans for the time between now and October, as well as plans for Work Plan 3.0. After a short break Brian and Becky led the consortium through an exercise of defining “Go-Live” as well as identifying data, systems, applications, training, outreach & onboarding critical path blockers to meet the go-live target. The meeting concluded with very helpful thoughts from the DataSTAGE External Experts Panelists: Dr. David Mendelson , Jason Williams , Dr. Donna Arnett , & Dr. Warren Kibbe . The day wrapped up with a networking event complete with appetizers and bocce ball!
Day 2 began with Working Group breakouts: DAWG, UEWG, & a joint DHWG and o16n TT discussion. Next up was a “live exercise” where teams prepared for and then participated in creating an overall STAGE architecture diagram. The remainder of the day involved reviewing and rethinking Workplan 3.0 User Narratives. It was kicked off with some NHLBI guidance, after which breakout groups were formed around UN themes: Users/Training/Production, Analysis, & Interconnecting.
Overall, most consortium members came away from this face-to-face with a better sense of understanding, consensus, and direction on the remaining 2019 initiatives.
