December 2018 F2F Meeting Materials
The DataSTAGE Coordinating Center was proud to host the first DataSTAGE Face-to-Face meeting in Bethesda, MD on December 3 & 4, 2018. 60 STAGE consortia and NHLBI members participated in critical discussions, live demos and break out groups.
Day 1 began with an overview from NHLBI Project Scientist, Jonathan Kaltman, Steering Committee Chair, Ingrid Borecki, STAGECC PI, Stan Ahalt, and STAGECC Co-PI, Becky Boyles. A presentation on Operationalization by NHLBI CIO, Alastair Thomson, was followed by 4 dry-run demonstrations from each DataSTAGE Full Stack teams. The day wrapped up with a networking event complete with appetizers and bocce ball!
Day 2 meetings began with a recap of Day 1, followed by 3 breakout sessions covering User Experience and Data Access, Data Harmonization, and Applications & Tools. The afternoon was filled with presentations to the NHLBI Director, Dr. Gary Gibbons, and numerous other NHLBI stakeholders.
Several DataSTAGE consortia members stayed in the DC area to participate and present to the TOPMed Steering Committee & EAP In-Person meeting at Tysons Corner, VA on December 5.
